Altair's floating fortress threatens Bomberman's home, but reaching it means exploring four surrounding worlds and breaking their hold on its defenses. The shift into three dimensions changes more than the camera: explosions spread outward rather than forming the usual cross, and Bomberman has no ordinary jump.
Bombs become tools for navigation as well as destruction. You can kick, lift, throw, and enlarge them, while careful arrangements provide ways to bounce toward otherwise inaccessible platforms. Gold cards encourage a more demanding return after a first clear. Multiplayer offers a separate arena contest, but the solo adventure's strongest identity comes from making one familiar explosive solve surprisingly physical environmental problems.
