The child of the hero Ortega leaves Aliahan to continue a struggle against the archfiend Baramos. Rather than supplying a fixed set of story companions, Dragon Warrior III lets you assemble travelers whose classes determine the party's strengths. Turn based battles reward having healing, damage, and useful support available across a long journey.
Day and night change conversations and access in towns, giving familiar places another side to investigate. Later class changes retain learned spells while demanding a fresh period of development. The original NES version's pleasure lies in steadily making the expedition your own, from a chosen lineup to the route that keeps everyone supplied on the way home.
