In the Hunt places a compact attack submarine beneath a world filled with damaged cities, enemy vessels, and implausibly large military machines. Forward torpedoes handle the path ahead, while other weapons address targets above and below the hull. Unlike many scrolling shooters, your advance influences how quickly the battlefield opens, allowing a measured approach to some threats.

That control does not remove the danger: narrow terrain, mines, and attacks from the surface can make a stationary position unsafe. The dense animation gives collapsing structures and sinking ships a satisfying sense of weight. Playing well means dividing attention between several heights and opening the next stretch only when you are ready to deal with it.
