Richard Miller's rescue assignment becomes a succession of rooms where the clock is almost as threatening as the armed guards. Time Crisis carries you between fixed positions, leaving your decisions concentrated on aiming, exposing yourself, and dropping back into cover.
Hiding reloads the pistol and avoids many attacks, but waiting indefinitely spends the time needed to finish the section. Learning where opponents appear makes a repeated attempt feel more controlled instead of merely faster. The PlayStation release also supplies an additional Special Mission beyond the arcade scenario. Its compact action has the rhythm of a rehearsed stunt scene, interrupted whenever you mistime your entrance.
