Wario discovers a pyramid promising riches and throws himself into a series of worlds that rarely resemble a sensible archaeological site. Each stage first encourages investigation for jewel pieces, a Keyzer, and valuable detours. Reaching the frog switch changes the rhythm: the escape portal reopens, blocks change state, and a countdown demands a route back.
Transformations caused by enemies remain useful puzzle tools, while Wario's charges and ground pounds give exploration a pleasing physical weight. The strange music and expressive animation make the greed funny rather than abstract. A good run depends on knowing the room well enough to stop sightseeing when the return trip begins.
